QC Audit Service/Format Compliance Service
General QC audit services on board the acquisition vessel or land crew. This
service may be suitable in cases where the acquisition contractor has good staff
and a well-developed set of internal QC systems and procedures, probably
including a read-only QC terminal for the use of the client representative. WTW
consultants will audit procedures and systems prior to and during the start-up
phase of a project. Thereafter, contractor adherence to procedures may be
checked continuously, or spot-checked, according to client requirements. QC
hardware requirements are minimised, generally consisting of a PC and
commercially available database / reporting / communications applications, plus
the appropriate Quest Geo-Solutions SPSCheck or PXCheck format compliance
software. This service may be combined with occasional data transfer to WTW’s
shore facility, allowing more detailed investigation of problem data sets.
At
this level of service, as well as auditing and monitoring of contractor
procedures, WTW would recommend always using the Quest format compliance
software, which allows automated checking of the structure and content of SPS,
P2 and P1 files
P1 Check highlights a data error in
Contractor P1 where a spurious value of 91 degrees North appears in a set of
data which was acquired at 66 degrees North.
The automated check run outputs a
summary as seen below for a P294 sequence. Problems are highlighted in red in
the actual data display, as above.
